Introduction to Risk Management

Join us to review fundamental concepts of risk and risk management, and see how they can be applied in Lean management and process improvement efforts.  Be ready to discuss an approach to identifying, analyzing, and monitoring risks that aligns with DMAIC so that process improvement projects can stay on target and meet their success criteria.

Presenter:

Katie Mankins
Director, Process Management, UC Santa Barbara

Katie Mankins joined UC Santa Barbara in 2015 with over 25 years of management and technical experience in various industries. She sees her role as Director for Process Management in the Office of the CIO as an opportunity to solve business problems, craft realistic solutions and deliver successful outcomes to a wide variety of stakeholders across campus. She is well-versed in the practices that enable projects to deliver promised customer value, and she has rich and deep expertise in business process improvement, project, program and portfolio management. She received her Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification in March 2019 and her Black Belt certification in June 2023.
