    Director of Automotive | QAD


    As Director of Automotive at QAD, Terry is responsible for global marketing activities which includes strategy and positioning, product and offering, people and knowledge, and field and sales marketing support for the automotive vertical. Terry works in close concert with customers to drive best practices and earn preferred supplier status. She also is an industry leader in the development and global adoption of supply chain industry standards and best practices.

    Terry also is co-host of Auto Supply Chain Profits Podcast. The focus of the podcast is to help auto manufacturers, suppliers and others in the automotive supply chain recognize, prepare for, and profit from whatever comes next. The podcast guests talk automotive supply chain solutions and manufacturing ERP with leaders and changemakers in our industry. 

    Prior to joining QAD, Terry worked at GM, Ford, and Johnson Controls. She has been immersed in the automotive supply chain and technology space throughout her entire career. Currently, Terry is an active member of the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Supply Chain Steering Committee. Terry is one of the authors of the Global Materials Management Operations Guideline/Logistics Evaluation (MMOG/LE) which is used by thousands of automotive suppliers globally. She has been awarded several times by AIAG and Odette for driving the development of global supply chain standards in the areas of assessments, key performance indicators, supplier agreements, and EDI.

    She is a mentor at Wayne State University for Supply Chain students who will be first-generation graduates. Terry has a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Information Systems from Lawrence Technological University.

      For the past 25 years, Susanne has called Manufacturing home. She has worked with materials such as plastics, electronics, paper and sheet metal in industries such as furniture, consumer products and automotive.  The common thread that all of Susanne’s experience has share is continuous improvements and leadership.  Many years ago, Susanne visited a plant to learn about the Continuous Improvement (CI) and Coaching Kata, which ignited her passion!

      She further developed her Lean and Kata skills by attending Grand Rapids Community College’s Lean Champion Certification Program.  Susanne has worked in several manufacturing leadership roles, Operational Excellence Leadership and is now the Plant Manager for an automotive supplier.  Throughout all positions, she is always looking for opportunities to learn, share and develop Lean Thinking and Leadership skills.

      Outside of work Susanne and her husband spend most of their time watching her youngest of three play soccer and occasionally fitting in some of her hobbies, reading and woodworking.

She works full-time as a defense contractor for Leidos.

      After 23 years in the U.S. Navy, both as enlisted and officer, she developed a passion for knowledge management and its impact on professional growth. She holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt (LSSMBB), and ASQ-Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE).

      In 2023, Thinkers360 recognized Cindy as one of the Top 50 Global Thought Leaders on Careers. In September 2020, She delivered a TEDx Talk, A Knowledge Mindset: What You Know Comes from Where You Sit, focusing on using knowledge management to enhance organizational trust and retention. Her muti-award winning book, The Knowledge Management Memory Jogger, was ranked as one of the 50 Books from Thinkers360 Thought Leaders You Should Read in 2024.

      Melissa has worked in the utility industry for over 27 years, both for an Investor Owned and Cooperative, gaining experience in Electric and Gas Distribution Engineering, Business Support for Pumped Storage, River Hydro and Renewable Generation, Online Scheduling for Fossil Generation, and Enterprise Change.

      Throughout her career, Melissa has instituted lean methodology while embedding change management methodology.  From scheduling to warehouse redesigns, to value stream analysis. Melissa analyzes and measures the effectiveness of existing business processes and develops sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable business process improvements. She analyzes data to drive problem solving, root cause analysis and functional area process improvement. Responsible for delivering significant results in Company Breakthrough Objectives.

      She is passionate about leading others on their continuous improvement/lean and change management journey.  She enjoys being able to share her love for teaching/coaching others and seeing the “ah ha” moments when someone truly understands the methodologies. It is through breaking down those methodologies in terms they understand that they can then tackle those big problems.

      Melissa has also taught higher education since 2008 both in-seat and on-line in management, entrepreneurship and engineering disciplines, relating a lot of her teaching to the utility industry.

      Melissa holds a Bachelors in Industrial Engineering Technology, a Master’s in Leadership Studies from Baker College, along with a Graduate Certificate in Leadership Strategies from Davenport University.  She also holds an Associates Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University and is certified in Change Management through Acuity Institute.
